FIOS
FIOS stands for Fiber Optic Service and is being offered by communications companies across the country. The service currently provides service at 5Mbps through 30Mbps and is available in a variety of different service packages. Eventually FIOS will compete directly with cable companies offering the same trio of services (TV, broadband internet, and voice/data telephone communications)
If you decide to get FIOS service you will need to make sure it's available in your area. Then you will need to schedule a FIOS installation. At this point you will be connected to FIOS service provider network and CAT5 cable will be run throughout your home and office. One of the most attractive options expected from FIOS will be cable TV. This is currently being distributed on a limited basis across the country.
