What is FIOS

FIOS stands for Fiber Optic Service and is an alternative to DSL and cable TV being installed across the country. The largest provider of FIOS technology is Verizon. Currently they offer three different levels of service ranging from $39.95 through $199.95 per month. The service is offered not only to compete with existing DSL services, but also broadband cable network offerings. While still in its infancy FIOS is expected to gain a strong following once it is used to start distributing FIOS TV
